Financial Times: Green energy groups step up training to close skills gap

Our plans to develop training programmes to close the burgeoning green skills gap are reported in the Financial Times today. Demand is surging for workers that can install and maintain renewable energy sources. The FT report includes data on the number of roles required across the UK and Europe to achieve 2030 renewable energy targets.

Our Energy Services Director Tom Hoines comments that retrofitting also offers an opportunity for new starters, such as school leavers, as well as those changing jobs. “You don’t need years of experience or an existing qualification.”
